Lakshadweep Water Sports: What to Confirm Before Booking

A practical checklist for confirming Lakshadweep water sports, equipment, participant rules, island availability and cancellation terms.

Reconfirm before booking

The Administration's activity list is not a live booking inventory. Confirm the product, island, provider, participant rules and total price for your dates.

On this page

Lakshadweep’s official tourism pages describe a wide water-sports range, but they are not a live booking system. Use them to identify possible activities, then obtain current confirmation for the exact island and dates.

Read the official list carefully

The Administration’s Adventures page says islands included in tourism packages offer facilities such as kayaks, canoes, pedal boats, sailing boats, windsurfers, snorkel sets and glass-bottom boats. It separately refers to scuba-diving facilities and deep-sea fishing.

The page also displays an equipment table. Do not treat that table as current availability for a future date. Equipment shown on an information page may be unavailable, unserviceable, assigned elsewhere or not part of the product being sold.

Start with the exact product

Ask the provider to identify whether the booking is:

  • equipment hire;
  • a guided activity;
  • an activity included in a package;
  • an optional activity charged on the island;
  • or a boat trip with an activity stop.

These formats have different inclusions and cancellation outcomes.

Participant confirmation

Send the age and relevant participation information for each traveller. Ask for the current rule on:

  • swimming ability;
  • minimum or maximum age;
  • certification;
  • health declaration or doctor’s certificate;
  • guardian participation;
  • equipment fit;
  • maximum group size;
  • and supervision.

Do not apply one provider’s answer to another activity. The current SPORTS scuba-course rule, for example, applies to that named course only.

Equipment confirmation

Ask which equipment is included and whether it is available in the required size. For a boat-based product, also ask about boarding, seating and the exact activity location.

Do not rely on generic statements such as full equipment included. Request the item list that applies to the quotation.

Price comparison

Compare the total for the same product, not the headline activity name. A useful written quotation identifies:

  • duration or operating window;
  • equipment;
  • instruction or guide;
  • boat transfer;
  • taxes and compulsory charges;
  • minimum participant requirement;
  • cancellation and refund terms.

This guide does not publish an indicative price because the primary sources reviewed do not establish a current standard rate across islands and providers.

Package-status check

SPORTS describes water activities within its tourism products. Its homepage currently says Samudram is unavailable until further directions because of ongoing maintenance and incomplete dry-docking.

Do not separate an activity promise from the status of the package that supplies it. Check the live notice before arranging connected travel.

What non-swimmers should ask

Do not assume an activity is suitable because it is labelled beginner. Ask whether water entry is required, whether swimming is required, what flotation or supervision is provided, and who decides participation on the day.

Use the Lakshadweep non-swimmer guide to compare activity formats without a blanket safety claim.

What families should ask

The package, room, permit and activity provider may use different child-age bands. Ask the activity provider directly and check what happens if one family member cannot participate.

Use the family package checklist to keep the activity answer connected to the complete quotation.

Build the activity into the trip

Do not add a separate island transfer merely because an activity is mentioned there. Confirm the complete route, stay, permit and return first. The things-to-do guide helps shortlist activities after the island is bookable.

Questions

Which water sports are offered in Lakshadweep?

The Administration describes kayaking, canoeing, pedal boating, sailing, windsurfing, snorkelling, glass-bottom boating, scuba diving and other activities within selected tourism arrangements.

Are all water sports available on every island?

No current official source establishes that. Confirm the activity with the provider attached to the particular island, package and date.

Is equipment included?

Do not assume it. Ask for an itemised confirmation showing equipment, boat transfer, guide, supervision and any separate charge.

What if an activity cannot operate?

Ask before payment whether the provider offers a refund, rescheduling or replacement activity and what evidence triggers that policy.
