Lakshadweep Family Package: Booking Checklist

The words Lakshadweep family package do not establish what is included. One quotation may cover a mainland sector, while another begins after arrival. One may use an island room, while another uses a ship cabin. Compare the written booking chain, not the package label.

First identify the travel format

The Administration publishes several tourism-package formats and describes both island and onboard accommodation. Ask the seller to name the exact product and sleeping location for every night.

Your quotation should make clear whether the trip is:

• an island stay reached by air and onward transfer;
• an island stay reached by passenger ship;
• a ship-based itinerary with daytime island visits;
• or a combination of separately supplied sectors.

Do not assume that a place named in the package title is where the family sleeps.

Record every traveller and age

Send the seller one passenger table with name, date of birth and age on departure. Ask the seller to show which travellers are priced as infants, children or adults for each transport, room and activity.

SPORTS describes children from age 1 up to 10 as children for its Samudram package. That does not create a general Lakshadweep child-age rule. Airlines, hotels, permits and other packages may apply different terms.

Ask for the final family total

The quotation should separate:

• mainland-to-Lakshadweep transport;
• every airport, jetty and island transfer;
• room or cabin and occupancy;
• extra bed or child arrangement;
• meals and drinking water;
• permit support and official charges;
• included and optional activities;
• taxes and compulsory charges;
• payment schedule;
• cancellation, rescheduling and disruption rules.

Check the room, not the word family

Ask for the exact property, room category, permitted occupancy, bedding and meal plan. If more than one room is needed, ask whether they are in the same property and what arrangement is actually confirmed.

The Administration’s accommodation page describes accommodation types, not live room stock. Check the resort and stay guide before accepting an old property listing as current inventory.

Confirm permit responsibility

Ask whether the seller only provides documents or actually supports the permit application. The written answer should state:

• who submits the application;
• what documents the family provides;
• which traveller names, islands and dates are covered;
• which official charges are included;
• and what happens if the itinerary changes.

The ePermit portal is the authority for the current process. Use the entry-permit guide rather than an agent’s old checklist.

Check every activity separately

For each included activity, ask for the island, date, supplier, minimum age, swimming requirement, equipment, supervision, health condition and bad-weather policy.

Do not accept a bundled phrase such as all water sports when the seller cannot name the activities and participation rules.

Current Samudram status

On 30 August 2026, the SPORTS homepage states that Samudram will not be available until further directions because of ongoing maintenance and incomplete dry-docking. Its package page still describes the itinerary and prices.

Treat the homepage notice as the current availability warning. The package description is useful for understanding the product, but it does not prove that a sailing can be booked. See the Samudram status guide for the latest recorded conflict.

Compare cancellation outcomes

Ask what happens separately if:

• the mainland sector changes;
• an onward island transfer is unavailable;
• the stay cannot provide the confirmed room;
• an activity is cancelled;
• the permit is not issued for the booked plan;
• one family member cannot travel.

The answer should identify whether each amount is refundable, adjustable or lost. Save the version of the terms accepted at payment.

A complete quotation passes this test

You should be able to draw one unbroken line from home to the island and back, place every traveller in a confirmed room or cabin, identify every meal, and match the route to the permit. If any link is missing, the family package is not ready for payment.
