Is Samudram an island resort stay?

Lakshadweep Samudram Package: Current Status

The Lakshadweep Samudram package is not a normal resort booking. The official description is a five-day ship-based cruise with nights onboard and daytime visits to islands.

What the official package description says

SPORTS and the Lakshadweep Administration describe:

a five-day cruise by MV Kavaratti;
visits to Kavaratti, Kalpeni and Minicoy;
nights spent onboard the ship;
lunch and refreshments ashore during island visits;
swimming, snorkelling and other water sports arranged during daytime visits;
Diamond and Gold travel classes on the SPORTS package page.

The SPORTS itinerary also says the sequence of islands can differ according to the voyage schedule. Treat the description as the product format, not as confirmation of a future sailing.

Current suspension notice

The notice dated 18 August 2026 appears on both the SPORTS home page and the Samudram booking page. It states that Samudram will not be available until further directions because of maintenance and incomplete dry-docking.

While that notice remains:

do not use an earlier departure calendar as current availability;
do not book a connected Kochi stay or flight around an assumed sailing;
do not accept an old itinerary as proof of the resumed route;
do not treat an old tariff as a payable current amount.

The page will need another review when SPORTS publishes further directions.

Price information is not aligned

Official SPORTS pages checked on 20 August 2026 show different Samudram figures. The package-description page says its fare was updated on 17 September 2025 and effective from 1 October 2025. A separate service-and-pricing page shows different totals.

What to verify if bookings resume

Notice removing or replacing the suspension.
Exact departure date and reporting point.
Vessel and travel class.
Islands in the actual voyage.
Adult and child definitions for the selected booking.
Package charge, transport charge, GST and payment charges.
Included meals and activities.
Permit process and required passenger details.
Cancellation and refund conditions.
