Choose the correct registration category

The portal’s registration page3 separates Islanders from Permit Holders. Its Permit Holders option names tourists, workers and other visitors.

Read the current category instructions before registering. Do not select a different category simply because it appears to offer a seat. Use the entry-permit guide to prepare the permit side of the trip separately.

Follow the published booking sequence

The portal homepage1 describes these stages:

  1. Register a passenger account.
  2. Enter the origin, destination and journey date, then select the ship and seats for the passengers.
  3. Provide contact details and complete fare payment.
  4. Complete web check-in and download the boarding pass.

Before paying, compare the result with your intended island, date, passenger category and travel class. Check the return journey separately. Do not treat an old timetable, advertised fare or ship name as proof that your required sector is available.

Prepare for boarding

The published instructions require a boarding pass and valid identification. They allow the pass as a mobile PDF or printout and describe checks at the UTLA counter, security, boarding and disembarkation.

Use the instructions attached to your booking for reporting times and any additional requirements. Save the pass where you can retrieve it without depending on a fresh download at the port.

Use the current government-linked address and ask the relevant counter about account or reservation problems. Do not assume that credentials from another service will work here.

Use the current reservation result for your sector and passenger category. No static fare table or fixed booking window is given here.

The portal’s FAQ page2 includes questions about booking, fares, waiting lists and check-in. Read the current answer in the portal, then contact the official counter directory4 if your booking remains unclear. A help-topic heading alone is not an answer about eligibility or confirmation.
