The Lakshadweep Administration publishes an official guest-house directory. It is useful for finding the listed facility and its current contact entry. It is not a tourist booking engine.

What appears in the official directory

The first directory page lists Dak Bungalows for Agatti, Amini, Andrott, Chetlat, Kadmat, Kalpeni, Kavaratti, Kiltan and Minicoy. It also lists a government guest-house annexe in Kavaratti.

The second page lists:

• Lakshadweep House in New Delhi;
• Lakshadweep State Guest House in Kavaratti;
• PWD Guest House in Kavaratti.

The directory publishes a category, location and contact detail for most entries. Use the live directory because contact information can change.

What the directory does not establish

The directory pages do not publish:

• tourist eligibility;
• a public room-booking process for each island property;
• live room availability;
• tariffs;
• room facilities;
• meal arrangements;
• permit support;
• airport, jetty or inter-island transfers;
• cancellation terms.

Do not turn a directory entry into a confirmed holiday stay. Ask the listed facility whether it accepts your category of traveller and dates, then obtain a written confirmation.

Avoid the mainland-location mix-up

Searches for “Lakshadweep guest house” can return facilities outside the islands. The official directory places Lakshadweep House in New Delhi. A name containing Lakshadweep does not prove that the accommodation is on a Lakshadweep island.

Check the full address and final island before comparing any option.

Questions to ask the listed facility

Use the official directory contact and ask:

1. Is this facility open to tourists for the requested dates?
2. What eligibility or approval is required?
3. What room category and occupancy are available?
4. What is the complete payable amount?
5. Are meals provided?
6. Who supports the Lakshadweep entry permit?
7. Which island must appear on the permit?
8. How will the traveller reach the property?
9. What written confirmation will be issued?
10. What are the change and cancellation conditions?

If the answer is informal or incomplete, do not build the rest of the trip around it.

Government guest house versus tourist accommodation

The Administration’s tourism accommodation page says SPORTS provides accommodation on islands and onboard ships. That is a separate source from the public-utility guest-house directory.

Permit and route still apply

A written room confirmation does not replace an entry permit or transport confirmation. Match the island and dates across:

• accommodation;
• ePermit application and approval;
• mainland travel;
• island transfer;
• return journey.

Treat the official directory as a contact source. Treat written confirmation from the responsible facility as the accommodation evidence. Until both eligibility and the complete journey are confirmed, keep the option provisional.
