Booking Lakshadweep accommodation is a chain, not a standalone hotel search. The final island, permit, mainland transport, onward transfer and return must agree.

Step 1: Choose the final island

Do not start with a generic property list. First decide which island you are considering and whether a current route and accommodation source can support it.

Step 2: Identify the source type

Accommodation results usually fall into one of these groups:

If the source cannot establish the current property or provider, do not pay from the listing alone.

Step 3: Check current inventory

Enter the exact dates, travellers and occupancy on the first-party or official source. If no live result is available, ask the responsible provider for written confirmation.

Record:

• property and island;
• dates and number of nights;
• room format and occupancy;
• meals;
• taxes and compulsory charges;
• rate conditions.

Step 4: Confirm the permit path

Use the official ePermit portal for the government application position. Ask the accommodation or package provider:

• whether it assists with the application;
• which island will be covered;
• which documents it currently requests;
• whether its charge is separate from the government amount;
• whether payment depends on permit approval.

Read the entry-permit guide before treating the room as sufficient.

Step 5: Join every transport sector

The Administration publishes general guidance for reaching Lakshadweep. It does not prove a hotel transfer for a selected date.

Write the route from home to the final island and back. Ask who confirms each:

1. home city to the mainland departure point;
2. mainland to Lakshadweep;
3. arrival point to the accommodation island;
4. return island transfer;
5. return mainland sector.

Step 6: Compare the complete quote

Use the resort-price worksheet to compare the same dates and occupancy. Include accommodation, meals, taxes, permit assistance and every required transfer.

A cheap room with an unconfirmed onward sector is not a bookable trip.

Step 7: Verify the payment destination

Before transferring money, match the payment request with the current first-party or official source. Confirm:

• legal or trading name receiving payment;
• invoice or booking reference;
• amount and currency;
• payment deadline;
• written cancellation and change terms;
• contact for support during travel.

This guide does not certify a seller. It gives you checks to run against the source you choose.

Step 8: Save the final booking pack

Keep one folder with:

• accommodation confirmation;
• permit approval;
• transport tickets;
• transfer confirmation;
• invoice and payment receipt;
• traveller names and identity details as submitted;
• support contacts;
• written terms.

Check that the same island and dates appear across the documents.

Current source note

The SPORTS portal showed a dated notice on 9 September 2026 stating that the Samudram package was unavailable until further directions. That notice applies to the named package. It does not establish the status of every island stay or hotel.

Use the portal’s current result rather than extending one notice to unrelated accommodation.
