Lakshadweep Honeymoon Package: Booking Checklist

A Lakshadweep honeymoon package should remove booking gaps, not hide them. Compare the complete journey and written inclusions instead of the headline price or a list of attractive island names.

“Honeymoon package” is not an official inclusion standard

The Administration and SPORTS pages describe several tourism formats. The official sources reviewed do not define a universal honeymoon-package specification.

Treat the words as a seller’s label until the quotation states:

• exact island or islands;
• travel dates;
• room and occupancy;
• every transport sector;
• arrival and return transfers;
• permit support;
• meals;
• activities;
• taxes and compulsory charges;
• cancellation and disruption terms.

Separate the package into four documents

1. Route sheet

List every sector from the home city to the final island and back. State the airline, ship or transfer provider only when it is confirmed.

A flight that ends at Agatti is not a complete Bangaram, Kadmat or Kavaratti itinerary.

2. Stay confirmation

Record the property or package name, island, room category, bedding, meal plan and dates. If the seller uses a hotel brand, compare the details with the hotel’s own page.

IHCL publishes a current Bangaram Island hotel page with room categories and contact details. Use the live hotel result for the selected dates.

3. Permit plan

The official ePermit portal states that tourist applications no longer require sponsorship or a Police Clearance Certificate upload.

Ask who will submit the permit, which island it covers, what documents are needed, what charge is payable and when the issued permit will be shared. A seller’s permit estimate is not a government guarantee.

4. Price and cancellation sheet

The quotation should show the total for both travellers and identify excluded costs. Read the cancellation rules before payment, especially where several connected suppliers are involved.

SPORTS publishes its own cancellation policy for bookings made through its system. A private seller can have different terms, which should be supplied in writing.

Compare like with like

Use this table for every quotation:

Do not compare a room-only quote with a package containing transport and meals without adding the missing lines.

Verify the seller and payment chain

SPORTS publishes a directory of authorised travel agents. If a seller says it is authorised by SPORTS, compare the name and contact details against the current official directory³.

That check does not prove every package claim. Before payment:

1. verify the legal or trading name;
2. match the payment beneficiary;
3. request the exact booking reference;
4. retain written inclusions and cancellation terms;
5. verify hotel or official booking details through the first-party contact;
6. do not send money only because a social-media profile shows island photographs.

Check special inclusions individually

A honeymoon quotation may mention decorations, a cake, a private meal, photography, an activity or a room upgrade. None of these should be assumed.

Ask the seller to state:

• what is included;
• where and when it is delivered;
• whether it depends on weather or operations;
• whether another provider is involved;
• the charge if it is optional;
• the refund or alternative if it cannot be provided.

This guide does not claim that any resort provides a standard romantic inclusion.

Current Samudram status

The SPORTS notice checked on 28 August 2026 says the Samudram package will not be available until further directions because of ongoing ship maintenance and incomplete dry-docking.

The package page can still display a product description and fare table. Those pages do not override the current notice. Do not treat an old sailing or sample itinerary as bookable.

Provider guidance can conflict with the permit portal

The IHCL Bangaram page publishes hotel-specific permit assistance, document and processing guidance. The official ePermit portal publishes the government tourist-application position.

Where the two differ, ask the hotel to explain the current booking path and use the government portal for the official permit position. Do not turn a provider estimate into a guaranteed approval date.

Warning signs in a quotation

Pause before payment when:

• the final island is not named;
• the return transfer is missing;
• the room is described only as “beach resort”;
• the flight is “included” without a flight number or fare condition;
• the permit is promised without stating the process;
• activities are guaranteed regardless of conditions;
• the seller will not state the cancellation terms;
• the payment beneficiary does not match the booking party.
