Agatti or Bangaram: the airstrip, or the transfer from it

Agatti and Bangaram are linked in the official route description, but they are not interchangeable booking choices. Agatti contains the airstrip. Bangaram requires a confirmed connection from the gateway named by the Administration.

When Agatti is the simpler shape

Agatti removes one island-to-island sector if the confirmed stay is on Agatti itself. That can reduce the number of moving parts, but it does not remove the need to verify the legal property, room, meals, local pickup, permit support and return flight.

The SPORTS homepage reviewed on 24 August 2026 states that there is presently no government-permitted resort at Agatti. This is a dated official notice, not a general statement about every possible form of accommodation. Ask the booking source for the exact legal property name and current approval basis.

When Bangaram is the better-supported resort choice

Bangaram has a current first-party IHCL hotel page in addition to the Administration’s island and tourism descriptions. This gives travellers a direct source for room categories, hotel contact details and booking conditions.

It also adds a transfer dependency. A complete plan needs the Agatti arrival, pickup, onward transfer, Bangaram stay, return transfer and onward mainland connection confirmed together.

Do not compare headline prices

A flight plus Agatti room cannot be compared fairly with a Bangaram package unless both quotations state:

• room category and number of nights;
• meals and taxes;
• airport pickup;
• both island-transfer sectors;
• permit assistance and charges;
• cancellation terms;
• the disruption policy for a missed connection.

The reviewed primary sources do not provide a single current total covering identical dates and inclusions on both islands. This page therefore does not label either island cheaper.

The decision

Choose Agatti when you have a confirmed Agatti stay and want to avoid adding an unconfirmed island transfer. Choose Bangaram when the current hotel and transfer chain are confirmed in one usable itinerary.
